*cis and trans women and anyone of diverse gender identity who feels aligned with women-focused topics and experiences are encouraged to attend.

Neurodiversity Support Group for Women

Thursday nights 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Cost: $340 ($85 per session)

Group size is limited to 5 participates only so please register once you are certain you can commit to the dates scheduled.

Description: This is a support group open to neurodiverse women* which will meet every Thursday night for four weeks to discuss a range of topics on neurodiversity, share their experiences, and provide support to one another, facilitated by a registered clinical counsellor who also identifies as neurodiverse. Formal diagnosis of ASD or ADHD is not required. Group size will be limited to five participates and one facilitator and held in-person in Colwood. (204a – 1910 Sooke Rd, gather in the main lobby at 6:25pm).

Format:

• Welcome, introductions, and check-in (no uncomfortable icebreakers required!) (10 minutes)

• Forming our circle and making our group agreements together (10 minutes on the first night)

• Grounding exercise (5 minutes)

• Group discussion: (35 minutes)

o Week 1 What does neurodiversity mean to you? How has it impacted your identity, sense of self, and life history?

o Week 2 How has your neurodiversity impacted your relationships with others?

o Week 3 How do you design your life to accommodate your needs and find success?

o Week 4 How do you see your path forward? What will you leave behind, what will you bring with you, and what will you move towards to make the most of your unique strengths?

• Break (10 minutes) Tea and coffee available free of charge.

• Support circle: Share a specific challenge you face and receive perspective and encouragement from the group (40 minutes)

• Closing: What felt meaningful for you tonight? (10 minutes)

Goals: To create a space where participants can explore their neurodiverse identities, share their daily challenges and successes, and receive support and encouragement from others with a similar lived experience. This group will focus on nurturing a safe, non-judgmental space where everyone feels included and valued. Participants will be free to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable in group discussions.

Payment, Refund, & Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable deposit of $85 to reserve your spot is due at time of registration by credit card, cash, or e-transfer. Full payment is due at the first session. No partial refunds can be offered for missed sessions as your space is reserved only for you. Group will only run with 5 participants, and full refunds will be offered to all registered participants if the group size cannot be met.

Insurance Coverage: Group therapy offered by a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) is often covered by extended benefits insurance policies. Check with your insurance provider or HR department to inquire if your plan will reimburse some or all your fee.
